All the darkness in the world cannot put out the light of a single candle

This site is designed to be simply a networking portal. This Knowledge Source site is not designed to convince anyone of anything. I will simply present links to information that can expand your horizons and allow you to be more effective in making a difference in our lives and world.

Hopefully one of these sites, if not more, will truly inspire you.

Check back often to see what new links have been added; then click and expand your mind. Just always be sure to keep an open mind without being a slave to all you hear.

Each link will be preceded by a brief description of what it leads to.

The most valuable possession you can own is an open heart.
Carlos Santana

Please take note that many of the sites I refer to use the term "the Divine." This is only in order to include everyone regardless of your belief system.

Please also remember that I do not necessarily agree with every single thing presented here but with much of it.  We are all adults and all capable of reading something without it brain-washing us completely.  I simply believe that we should all have open minds but that we are each capable of reading something and evaluating it for ourselves - no one can, nor should, tell you what to believe or think – leave what you do not regard as truth back on the pages where you found it (simply ignore it) and take only from what you read or see that you feel is truth --- take only what you need.  That's what I do.

I believe that if you evaluate what is written without pre-conceived judgment you will find things that speak to you.   We don't have to change our basic beliefs to unit as a people on the issues that we do believe in together.

Remember that divided, we fall.  Let us work along side each other for the betterment of our world we live in.

A final subtle, yet powerful method of gaining control is to distract people from their purpose in life. Consider that television, radio, and movies have been filled with ever more greed, violence, and empty sex. Our educational system has increasingly prioritized passing tests over developing intelligence and creativity. Excessive corporate control of the media has limited what news we receive, and often shaped our decisions and the way we think. Our attention has been subtly diverted from our deeper purpose in life to the more superficial attractions of sex, consumerism, and money.”Building a Brighter Future  - http://www.wanttoknow.info/brighterfuture

If money be not thy servant, it will be thy master.
The covetous man cannot so properly be said to possess wealth,
as that may be said to possess him.

Francis Bacon

The most common misconception people have about money is the belief that if they had more money they would be more happy. Yet this is often not the case. In the poorest villages you can sometimes find the most happy people, while some of the richest people on the planet are the least content and most tormented. It is not how much money we have that determines our happiness in life, but rather how satisfied we are with what we've got.” - The Hidden Knowledge Course, Lesson 6, Part 2, http://www.hidden-knowledge.net/lessons/06b_money_matters

Money and the Banking Cover-up

Considering the huge role it plays in our lives, we are taught very little about money or the financial system in our many years of education. Very few schools, for instance, ever teach students the risk of going deep into credit card debt. Very few college graduates have been taught about the role of money and banking in the development of civilization or even in our current world.”

The below link will take you to “The Hidden Knowledge Course”, Lesson 6 which will provide you with important facts of which few are aware. - Hidden Knowledge Course: Lesson Six

Secrecy leads to control through preventing the exposure of hidden agendas, and through breeding distrust, suspicion, and paranoia in the world. In the name of "national security," we have been told ever more frequently that we should not know what is happening behind closed doors in government. Yet we are encouraged to keep vigilant watch over our neighbors, over those who question the government, and over those who look or act different from us, as they could secretly be terrorists in sheep's clothing. Rampant suspicion and secrecy cause us to lose touch with the common humanity we share with all around us.”Building a Brighter Future - http://www.wanttoknow.info/brighterfuture

Beyond Us Vs. Them
“Let us do all that we can to stop destructive behavior, yet let us remember that making others bad or evil only promotes more conflict and polarization in our world. By stepping out of the "us vs. them" way of thinking and trying to understand those we might oppose, we can create a new paradigm where negative behavior has clear consequences, yet the core humanity of everyone is acknowledged and honored.” - Hidden Knowledge Course: Lesson Five

Inspiring Ideas on Taking Responsibility for Our Lives - http://www.wanttoknow.info/qualityoflife

“When we enter the domain of money, there often seems to be a disconnect from the soulful person we have known ourselves to be. It is as if we are suddenly transported to a different playing field where all the rules have changed. In the grip of money, those wonderful qualities of soul seem to be less available. We become smaller. We scramble or race to “get what’s ours.” We often grow selfish, greedy, petty, fearful, or controlling, or sometimes confused, conflicted or guilty. We see ourselves as winners or losers, powerful or helpless, and we let those labels deeply define us in ways that are inaccurate, as if financial wealth and control indicate innate superiority, and lack of them suggests a lack of worth or basic human potential. Visions of possibility dissolve. We become wary and mistrusting, protective of our little piece, or helpless and hopeless. We sometimes feel driven to behave in ways inconsistent with our core values, and unable to act differently.” - BOOK Excerpt from The Soul of Money by Lynne Twists – to read the full excerpt go to:

The following two fact-filled documentaries have been given a very rare rating of five out of five stars by Google Video viewers. These films, though they have some weaknesses and exaggeration, do an excellent job of introducing and educating viewers to key, little-known facts which impact our global economy and politics.  You are encouraged to have a healthy skepticism of what is presented, yet also to have an open mind to the possibility that much of what is presented is based on verifiable evidence.

Deepak Chopra Recommends The Soul of Money

“This is the right book at the right time. Lynne Twist provides a unique, intelligent, and soul-centered look at how we can release the burden of having or not having money. She brings inspiration and possibility to an area of life that most of us believe is

unchangeable. To anyone who wants to transform their lives and the world, I give this book my highest recommendation.” - Deepak Chopra, MD

Our blind spots in dealing with money have allowed major manipulations to occur unbeknownst to the public. Clearly, this little-known information has had a dramatic impact on matters such as the distribution of wealth and government debt in our world.

Though we can work to change this by educating others on these important matters and doing our best to change the system, possibly the most powerful thing we can do in
this regard is to take a look at our own lives and explore where we are not in full integrity with money. The below brief excerpt beautifully explores the relationship between matters of the soul and matters of finance.

The Soul of Money

Key Excerpt from Lynne Twists' Inspiring Book

Super Rich: The Greed Game

As the credit crunch bites and a global economic crisis threatens, Robert Peston reveals how the super-rich have made their fortunes, and the rest of us are picking up the bill.

Robert Peston, the BBC’s Business Editor, speaks to some of the heavy hitters in hedge-fund and private equity scene. Along with the investment bankers, these are the very people who have been blamed for the current financial woe’s of the world.

The film highlights the act that these very few people have become super rich, and while the global economy is collapsing around us, they get to sail off into the sunset, with bulging pockets, to lay back, and wait for the next set of opportunities that will come along.
Which, ironically, will probably be the buying, very cheaply, of the many companies that are in trouble, due to the actions of hedge-funds, private equity firms, and investment bankers in the financial markets over recent years.

Here are a few mentions just to show that there are also good people doing good for mankind out there in the world.

Grameen Bank - taken from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Grameen Bank (Bengali) is a microfinance organization and community development bank started in Bangladesh that makes small loans (known as microcredit or "grameencredit" to the impoverished without requiring collateral. The word "Grameen", derived from the word "gram" or "village", means "of the village". The system of this bank is based on the idea that the poor have skills that are under-utilized. A group-based credit approach is applied which utilizes the peer-pressure within the group to ensure the borrowers follow through and use caution in conducting their financial affairs with strict discipline, ensuring repayment eventually and allowing the borrowers to develop good credit standing. The bank also accepts deposits, provides other services, and runs several development-oriented businesses including fabric, telephone and energy companies. Another distinctive feature of the bank's credit program is that a significant majority of its borrowers are women.

Microcredit – taken from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article is specific to small loans. For financial services to the poor, see Microfinance. For small payments, see Micropayment.

Microcredit is the extension of very small loans (microloans) to those in poverty designed to spur entrepreneurship. These individuals lack collateral, steady employmentand a verifiable credit history and therefore cannot meet even the most minimal qualifications to gain access to traditional credit. Microcredit is a part of microfinance, which is the provision of a wider range of financial services to the very poor.

Microcredit is a financial innovation that is generally considered to have originated with the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh. In that country, it has successfully enabled extremely impoverished people to engage in self-employment projects that allow them to generate an income and, in many cases, begin to build wealth and exit poverty.[citation needed] Due to the success of microcredit, many in the traditional banking industry have begun to realize that these microcredit borrowers should more correctly be categorized as pre-bankable; thus, microcredit is increasingly gaining credibility[citation needed] in the mainstream finance industry, and many traditional large finance organizations are contemplating microcredit projects as a source of future growth, even though almost everyone in larger development organizations discounted the likelihood of success of microcredit when it was begun. The United Nations declared 2005 the International Year of Microcredit.

Muhammad Yunus - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Muhammad Yunus (Bangla:, pronounced Muhammôd Iunus) (born 28 June 1940) is a Bangladeshi banker and economist. He previously was a professor of economics where he developed the concept of microcredit. These loans are given to entrepreneurs too poor to qualify for traditional bank loans. Yunus is also the founder of Grameen Bank. In 2006, Yunus and the bank were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, "for their efforts to create economic and social development from below."[1] Yunus himself has received several other national and international honors. He is the author of Banker to the Poor and a founding board member of Grameen America and Grameen Foundation. In early 2007 Yunus showed interest in launching a political party in Bangladesh named Nagorik Shakti (Citizen Power), but later discarded the plan. He is one of the founding members of Global Elders.

FEAR

“Fear is used as a powerful tool of control by these factions of the global elite. "The terrorists want to kill us all. Your job, savings, and retirement are no longer secure. You are either for us or against us. We might be attacked at any time." All of these messages push us towards fear. And by encouraging us to focus blame on others such as terrorists and "evil" leaders, the global power brokers push us away from feeling in control of our lives and towards the role of powerless victims. The more we slip into fear and being victims, the easier it is for us to be manipulated.” - Building a Brighter Future - http://www.wanttoknow.info/brighterfuture

This next video coming up  is very scary because it is so real but we must educate ourselves if we are to be free.  The video is approximately 1 hour long, and you should really take the time to listen to the very last audio sequence in it.  It has happened before, and it can happen again … if we don’t educate ourselves now.

Loss of Civil Liberties
Graphically Portrayed In
Powerful Video Unconstitutional

The most excellent video documentary Unconstitutional: The War on Our Civil Liberties clearly depicts the rapid erosion and loss of civil liberties and civil rights in the U.S. since 9/11. Available for free viewing at the links below, this empowering video presents interviews with ranking members of Congress, top legal experts, and even a former CIA chief, all of whom describe many insidious efforts to take away privacy and freedoms guaranteed under the constitution for over 200 years. Compelling video footage depicts U.S. citizens—from law-abiding store clerks to a U.S. Olympian—who have suffered serious injustices as the result of unconstitutional policies established under the Patriot Act.

Even more astounding, members of Congress describe on camera the replacement of the previously agreed upon Patriot Act by another version quietly slipped into its place just hours before the final vote in Congress, leaving no one time to read the many devastating changes inserted at the last moment. Here is solid, verifiable evidence showing the serious, often-hidden erosion of the very foundation of the United States. Call your friends together to watch this engaging 60-minute video documentary and join in the growing movement to uphold democracy and the U.S. Constitution.

Speaking With Your Money

By Lynn M. Acquafondata
In this excerpt from her book, Lynne writes about an experience she had as a fund raiser for the Hunger Project.
One day she met a corporate executive in his high rise office in Chicago. All she knew about the huge food corporation for which he functioned as CEO was that it had recently suffered a major image problem due to inappropriate actions. The corporation apparently had decided upon the idea of contributing to a cause aimed at ending world hunger as a way to “clean up its image.”
She wrote:
“I was ushered into the CEO’s office. There he sat at his desk, and I sat facing him on the other side. The backlighting made it so that I could barely see his face.  …”

Now for something completely different!!

The following documentary reminded me of my sister Donna when she was in her young teenage years.  She decided to train the family how to react, get out and survive should there be a house fire during the night.  She instructed everyone, and reminded again and again, on proper procedures including feeling the bedroom doorknob for heat, staying low to the floor, where to all meet outside, etc.  One night, sometime between 2 and 3 am,  the fire alarm in the house went off.  My dad sprang from bed, not following any of the given instruction and burst into the hallway …where he faced my sister Donna standing on a chair holding the alarm button down to make the alarm sound, and yelling at him “You’re now dead”.  I don’t recall if she got punished or not but it is now one of those funny stories that, we as a famiy recall from time to time, ..and it’s also an occasion when a child thought a parent a valuable lesson.  It’s better to have a plan and be prepared for a disaster even if there is little chance of that disaster occurring because it gives us a much greater chance of survival.

How to Survive a Disaster?

A BBC Presentation

When disaster strikes who lives and who dies is not purely a matter of luck.
In every disaster, from those people face once in a lifetime, to those they face every day, there are things that can be done to increase the chances of getting out alive.
Horizon has gathered a team of leading experts to produce the ultimate guide to disaster
Through controversial experiments, computer simulations and analysis of hundreds of survivor testimonies from plane crashes to ferry disasters and even 9/11, they will reveal what happens in the mind in the moment of crisis and how the human brain can be programmed for survival.

Core Life Challenges
“One of the most powerful actions we can take individually to make a difference is to explore deep within ourselves to find the places where either consciously or unconsciously we are supporting secrecy and divisiveness and not supporting what's best for ourselves and our world.” …
